OOZ/OOD applications for 2011-2012 school year:
If you desire for your child to attend a different school other than the one for which he is zoned, please be aware that OOZ/OOD requests received after noon on Monday, August 1, will be considered after the tenth day of school.  This pause allows the district an opportunity to consider each school's ACTUAL inzone enrollment and staffing needs prior to making final decision on these new requests.  No OOZ/OOD applications in grades 1-12 will be considered without information from the school the student currently attends.

Registration for current school year:
To register your student for the current school year, you may do so at the school for which you are zoned or at 300 W Waugh St..  Please bring the following items with you for registration: proof of residence in parent's name; child's social security card and birth certificate.  If enrolling for kindergarten or new to Georgia, please bring these three items plus a GA proof of immunization form # 3231 and GA Eye/Ear/Dental certificate - form # 3300.

OOZ/OOD Capacity Update:
To accommodate school choice preferences without overcrowding classooms, the district uses a capacity formula to determine available slots prior to a school's opening for the new year.   Grade 5 at all schools and 6th and 7th grades at Dalton Middle are now closed for new out-of-district students in 2011-12.  Grade 8 will open after the 10th day of school and close May 1 of each year with enrollment being based upon existing capacity and acceptance criteria.
