Overview of SSB
Dalton Public Schools' Student Success Board (SSB) highlights key performance areas that are aligned to the district's Directional System of beliefs, vision, mission, superordinate goal and the Board of Education Priorities for ensuring students are "on-track" for continued success. This dashboard is the community's local, sustainable accountability system and is similar in purpose to the state's College and Career Ready Performance Indicator (CCRPI) system. Dalton Public Schools' version is heavily influenced by StriveTogether's Student Roadmap to Success that:
...(believes) education is a lifelong, cradle-to-career experience that begins well before a child ever sets foot in a classroom and continues long past a cap-and-gown commencement... plots the course of a student's journey from cradle to career... (guides) all members of the community partnership with an interest in seeing that students have successful journeys... (reflects) academic points... that are supported by research as key contributors to the achievement of cradle to career vision and goals... ensure(s) accountability to the community and effective alignment of community resources.
The HOME or landing page of the Student Success Board highlights the most recent, usually 2017, Key Success Indicators or benchmarks of Kindergarten Readiness (2), Early Grade Reading, Middle Grade Math Graduation Rates and Post-Secondary Enrollment. The Engagement/Connectedness pages highlight indicators of the district’s focus on the superordinate goal to develop relationships that result in student engagement and quality work… #Dalton Difference. The Alumni Success pages of the SSB highlight the key indicators of high school graduation, post-secondary enrollment and post-secondary degree completion. The State Tests pages report results of state assessments. The Historical pages reflect additional prior year data for Key Success Indicators, Graduation Rates, Post-Secondary indicators and performance on state tests.
