Congratulations to BeLinda Parrish, director of transportation and custodial services, who was featured in "Georgia School Bus," official publication of the Georgia Association for Pupil Transportation.

The member profile article in which she is featured, "This is What I was Supposed to Do in Life," recounts Parrish's long career in pupil transportation. She started as a bus driver for the county and ended up working in the transportation office in the city. Parrish has worked for Dalton Public Schools for 24 years and in pupil transportation overall for 34.

She discusses how pupil transportation has always been close to her heart. She thinks it is important that bus drivers are the first people to see the children each day, greet them and start their day off right so they can get to school and then get home safely.

In the feature, Parrish said, "I feel like this is what I was supposed to do in life, and I take that very seriously."
