Read about the amazing Dalton Difference makers we've highlighted in the past few weeks. You can read the story about this new initiative on our website. "Many teachers and staff members instantly came to mind when I was asked to pass this coin along to someone who embodied the 'Dalton Difference'. It has been quite a difficult task because I truly believe that everyone at City Park embodies the 'Dalton Difference'. However, after seeing the amazing things that Alecia Halman has done for our school and our community already this year, I couldn't think of a better recipient of this coin than her! She is an ELL support teacher and has been teaching at City Park for two years. She jumped into her second year by taking charge in overseeing our school's participation in the Helping Hands Ending Hunger Program, which is a nonprofit organization that provides families with extra food over the weekends who might
otherwise not have enough. Every morning and afternoon, students place any uneaten prepackaged food items from breakfasts and lunches into a cart to be sorted. These items are then bagged up and sent home with City Park students on Fridays to families in need. Along with supporting our students' needs at home, she works hard to provide meaningful opportunities for students to ensure that they are happy and successful as learners in the classroom. She has an obvious passion for teaching and for helping students, and she always has a smile on her face while doing it. She is always so positive and encouraging, and we are extremely lucky to have this super hero at CP! Alecia Halman is the 'Dalton Difference'!" - Nikki Byrd
"I am honored to pass this coin on to such a wonderful person. I cannot think of a more deserving friend, colleague and servant leader than Cindy Parrott. She leads Roan School with such a positive attitude that's contagious to all that interact with her. Mrs. Parrott establishes great relationships with students, staff and parents; she cares for and treats everyone as if they are her very own family. She is compassionate, considerate, upbeat, supportive and has the biggest heart ever! Mrs. Parrott is truly the Dalton Difference because of the love that she shows daily through her words and actions with everyone who walks in the doors of Roan School. I have witnessed the kindness and dedication from Mrs. Parrott in and out of the school environment. For those reasons, the decision to honor her with this coin was an easy one! She is truly the Dalton Difference." - Ron Bailey "Stephanie Pratt embodies what it means to be the 'Dalton Difference.' She treats students, staff, and parents as though they are a part of her own family. Her smiles and laughter warm the hallways of Park Creek daily. Her love for her job and students is contagious and can brighten every person's day. Stephanie is constantly working to provide engaging tasks for her students to promote a lifelong love of reading, writing, and all other subjects. Her passion for learning and the Park Creek family makes her the epitome of the 'Dalton Difference'" - Ashley Brindle
