Welcome to Reconnect DPS!

This webpage was created as a place to provide the Dalton Public Schools
community with updates about plans to reconnect with staff, students and
parents and safely return to school in the fall 2020 semester. We will
update this page as new information becomes available.

Please read through the information provided on this webpage. There is
currently a committee meeting weekly working to determine the safest
and best way to reopen schools in the fall. You can contact any member of
the reopening committee by clicking the link below their name in the
righthand column.

Thank you for your support and participation in this process. We look
forward to beginning school again in the fall!

Our district is preparing a variety of plans for opening that will be based on the Department of Public Health's evaluation of the COVID-19 spread in our community and safety as our first priority. We know that the on-campus experience for our students will always be preferable. We are working very hard to get students back on campus as soon as it is safe to do so.

We are also developing plans in the event we have to go back to all digital learning or if we need to have a hybrid of in person and online learning. Based on the public health situation, Dalton Public Schools will remain flexible and adaptable so that we may move between the three options to best serve students as the situation dictates. This approach will allow us to cope with any unexpected rise in infections within our community.

Our goal is to ensure that any of the three options will allow DPS to continue to serve students with a high quality, child-centered learning experience—even in modified ways.
