Out-of-Zone/Out-of-District/Out-of-State Application 2023-2024
We will begin accepting applications starting March 30th, 2023, BETWEEN 7:30a.m.-4:30 p.m .
Applications must be turned at THE DPS Enrollment Center located at 101 N Thornton Ave Suite 100. If you have any questions, please call our office at 706-876-4000.
To be considered in the first phase of approvals, applications must be received and date/stamped no later than 4:30 p.m. on April 12, 2023. First phase acceptance decisions will be announced April 28, 2023. For applications received between April 13 and May 12, 2023, admission decisions will be made in the second phase of the early admission process and will be announced May 26, 2023. Applications received after May 12, 2023 may not be considered until late July. No OOZ/OOD applications in grades 1-12 will be considered without information from the school the student currently attends.

Tuition Information
Students who live in the city may apply to attend another school other than the one for which they are zoned.
Students living outside Dalton’s city limits are accepted on a space-available basis. Tuition for these students is:
$155 per month for first child ($1,550/year)
$125 per month for second child ($1,250/year)
Families with 3 or more children would pay a total of $300 per month ($3,000/year)
$500 per month for each child ($5,000/year) for students who live outside the state of Georgia.
Tuition must be paid in advance by the 15th day of each school month, August through May. Tuition is payable to the DPS Central Office, Attn: Tuition, 300 W Waugh Street, Dalton, GA 30720. Dalton Public Schools can now accept tuition payments using a credit card, debit card or your checking account. You can access the secure online payment portal through www.schoolpay.com. A transaction and convenience fee will apply. Families who live outside the city limits but own property within the city may be exempt from all or part of the required tuition.
