COVID-19 Protocols
As of Friday, February 25, 2022, the Georgia Department of Education is no longer collecting data on the spread of COVID-19 in schools. As a result, we will no longer be publishing a weekly COVID dashboard. The protocols listed on this page will continue to be in effect.
Dalton Board of Education Resolution - DPS COVID Tiered Response Plan
From the Dalton Board of Education:
The Governance Team of Dalton Public Schools continues to seek to provide the best education we can—even under the adverse circumstances caused by COVID-19.
In general, we believe in-person instruction best serves the educational, social and emotional needs of the vast majority of our students. However, the ongoing spread of COVID-19 in our community is concerning and poses health and safety challenges that can be mitigated but not eliminated. Our hope is that following a tiered approach will best help us both mitigate the spread and other negative effects of COVID-19 and still provide the most optimal learning environment we can under these conditions.

El Equipo de Gobierno de las Escuelas Públicas de Dalton continúa buscando brindar la mejor educación posible, incluso bajo las circunstancias adversas causadas por COVID-19.
En general, creemos que la instrucción en persona sirve mejor a las necesidades educativas, sociales y emocionales de la gran mayoría de nuestros estudiantes. Sin embargo, COVID-19 en nuestra comunidad es preocupante y plantea desafíos de salud y seguridad que pueden mitigarse, pero no eliminarse. Nuestra esperanza es que seguir un enfoque escalonado nos ayudará mejor a mitigar la propagación y otros efectos negativos de COVID-19 y aún proporcionar un ambiente de aprendizaje más óptimo posible en estas condiciones.
