Cox named District Instructional Coach for Dalton Public Schools

Elizabeth Cox will serve as the new district instructional coach for Dalton Public Schools, effective July 1. Cox currently serves as an instructional math coach at Dalton High School. Cox replaces Brandi Moore who was recently promoted to director of school support for the district. 

In her new role, Cox will support teachers in kindergarten through twelfth grade throughout the district in the area of mathematics and science.

Cox has 18 years of experience in education and has been with Dalton Public Schools since 2020. Prior to that, she was employed with Murray County Schools. 

She holds an Educational Specialist degree in teacher leadership from Valdosta State University, a Master of Arts for Teachers in Special Education from Valdosta State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Business Management from Mercer University. She holds a Gifted endorsement and has completed sign language interpreter training. 

“I’m happy to welcome Elizabeth to our district administrative team,” said Tim Scott, superintendent of Dalton Public Schools. “She joins a strong group of district coaches who support our core curriculum teachers in our schools who are focused on improving student achievement.”
