Dalton High School Alumnus Jim Arnold to Present Gift to Athletic Department

Jim Arnold's athletic journey took off during his high school years as a punter for Dalton High School. His talent and dedication earned him a scholarship to Vanderbilt University, setting the stage for his entry into the professional football realm. Originally drafted to play for the Kansas City Chiefs, Arnold later became better known as a Detroit Lion.

Retiring from the NFL in 1994, Arnold now resides in Franklin, Tennessee, near his college football playing grounds in Nashville. Recently, Arnold had the opportunity to connect with another local standout, Jahmyr Gibbs, who was drafted by the Detroit Lions in last April's NFL Draft. The two Catamount alumni had the chance to meet and take a photo together during the Lions' game on October 31.

In a special event set for Wednesday, January 31st, at Dalton High School, Arnold will be presenting a gift to the school's athletic department commemorating his meeting with Gibbs. We extend an invitation to community members and local media outlets to join us for a meet & greet with Jim Arnold and witness the presentation of the gift to the DHS football team.
