Dalton Public Schools Announces Distribution of School Transportation Zone Letters for 2024-25 Academic Year

Dalton Public Schools is pleased to announce that this week letters will be sent home to Dalton Junior High, Dalton High and Dalton Academy students regarding their high school transportation zones for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. These letters contain vital information about transportation zones and the school each student is zoned for in the approaching academic year.

Upon receipt of the letter, families are encouraged to review the information provided. Should families wish to explore enrollment in a high school outside their designated transportation zone, they are required to adhere to the outlined application guidelines.

Application Process for Out-of-Zone Schools:

  • Virtual Applications: Families can apply online for a school outside of their zone by visiting: https://dalton.iad1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9t9C93VAivZ64cu.
  • Paper Applications: Paper applications will be made available at the Dalton Junior High, Dalton High and Dalton Academy front offices. All paper applications should be submitted to the Dalton Public Schools Enrollment Center located at: 101 N Thornton Ave Suite 101, Dalton, Georgia.

High school out-of-zone applications will be available starting Wednesday, March 20th. The deadline for submissions is April 11th; no applications will be accepted beyond this date.

Please note that Dalton Public Schools reserves the right to rescind out-of-zone status for any student found violating the Dalton Public Schools Code of Conduct.

Additionally, it is important to note that students who attend Dalton Public Schools from outside of the district will not receive letters about their attendance zone. Families will be contacted by the school their student attends to make a decision regarding the preferred school for their student.
