Dalton Public Schools Congratulates Three Students Named 2024 Georgia Scholars Honorees

Dalton, GA — Dalton Public Schools proudly announces that three of its students from Dalton High School have been recognized as 2024 Georgia Scholars Honorees by the Georgia Department of Education.


The honorees are Francis Cuaresma, Addison Hester, and Legend Land. These exceptional students have demonstrated outstanding achievements in both academic excellence and community involvement, embodying the core values of the Georgia Scholar program.

To qualify for this honor, students must meet stringent criteria, including a minimum combined score of 1360 on the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or a composite score of 31 on the American College Test (ACT) at one test sitting. Additionally, honorees must maintain a non-weighted, cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale, exhibit self-esteem and concern for others in their day-to-day activities, and demonstrate leadership in a minimum of two different organizations outside the school.

Each Georgia Scholar receives a distinguished seal for their diploma, symbolizing their exceptional dedication to academic excellence and community service.
