Dalton Public Schools Elevates Three Educators to Assistant Principal Roles

Dalton, GA – Dalton Public Schools proudly announces the promotion of three exemplary educators to the role of Assistant Principal within its school system. At the Board of Education meeting held on Monday, May 13th, these individuals were unanimously approved for their new leadership positions, reflecting their dedication, expertise, and commitment to academic excellence.

Briana Ridley was approved as the new Assistant Principal of Westwood Elementary. With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Dalton State College and advanced graduate studies culminating in a Master of Arts in Education and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Piedmont College, Briana's academic achievements showcase her personal commitment to excellence. Over her 13-year teaching career, she has continuously demonstrated her passion for professional growth and instructional innovation, most recently serving as an instructional coach at Roan Elementary School. Briana's leadership abilities shine through her involvement in district-wide initiatives, such as her involvement in helping to facilitate the implementation of new math standards and providing professional development sessions to support teachers in their instructional practices. Briana's dedication to student success and her ability to foster positive relationships within school communities position her to excel in her new role at Westwood Elementary.

Charles "CJ" Smith brings a wealth of diverse experience and a deep commitment to educational excellence to his new role as the Assistant Principal of Hammond Creek Middle School. Graduating with distinction from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2007, Mr. Smith's academic journey continued with a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2013. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Education and Superintendent Certificate from Western Washington University, Mr. Smith exemplifies a lifelong commitment to learning and growth. His diverse career spans various educational settings, including roles as a dedicated teacher, coach, and principal intern, where he consistently demonstrated his passion for student success and instructional excellence. From his tenure as an Algebra teacher in Dalton Public Schools to his leadership roles in curriculum development and coaching throughout his educational career, Mr. Smith's impact on student learning and development is unmistakable. With a proven track record of leadership and a dedication to academic achievement, Mr. Smith's appointment signifies a new chapter of innovation and excellence at Hammond Creek Middle School.

Randi Green's appointment as Assistant Principal of Roan Elementary reflects a distinguished career marked by dedication and innovative leadership. Holding an Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University, a Master of Education in Reading and Curriculum from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Lee University, Ms. Green's academic prowess is matched only by her practical experience and certifications, including endorsements in ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages), reading, and dyslexia. With over 19 years in education, she has continually refined her skills in team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making, laying a solid foundation for her new role.
