Dalton Public Schools Students Excel at Region Literary Meet

The literary talents of students from both The Dalton Academy and Dalton High shone brightly at their recent Region Literary Meets, showcasing their prowess in various categories including essays, extemporaneous speaking, and dramatic interpretation. The competitions brought together students from across the region to compete in music, drama, and literary events. 

Aracely Calderon

Representing Region 7-A Division I, The Dalton Academy showcased remarkable skill and determination, highlighted by standout performances from Aracely Calderon. Calderon's exceptional talent led her to secure 1st Place in the Argumentative Essay category. As a result of her stellar performance, Calderon has earned a prestigious position in the upcoming State Competition. 

Meanwhile, Dalton High emerged as the overall victor in Region 7-5A, securing the trophy for first place after delivering numerous outstanding performances. Lilli Sharp, Legend Land, and Ellis Stephens claimed the top spots in Personal Essay, Argumentative Essay, and Dramatic Interpretation categories. 

DHS Literary Meet

Molly Watts, Noah Nellinger, and Kinsley Stephens demonstrated their musical prowess in the Girls Trio category, securing a first place victory. Hayden Poe, Jack Kersey, Ellis Stephens, and Tristyn Box performed an exceptional Boys Quartet, claiming first place in their category. Additionally, Hayden Poe stood out in the Boys Solo category, earning another first place victory.

All Dalton Public Schools students will be competing on March 16 at Warner Robbins High School.
