Dalton Public Schools Welcomes New Assistant Principals to Leadership Team

Dalton, GA - Dalton Public Schools is pleased to announce the internal hiring of two exceptional educators to serve as assistant principals within the district. Dee Curtis has been appointed as the Assistant Principal of Dalton High School, while Erin Roberts will assume the role of Assistant Principal at Park Creek Elementary. These appointments were approved during the recent Board of Education meeting held on April 30th.

Embodying transformational leadership, Dee Curtis champions the power of collective effort to effect meaningful change. Dee strongly believes in the importance of collaboration and involving all stakeholders in the educational process, from parents and teachers to community members and businesses, shaping a vibrant and supportive learning environment. Throughout her tenure at Dalton High School, spanning since 2014, Dee's role as a School Counselor has been marked by her extensive involvement in counseling, crisis intervention, standardized testing coordination, and community outreach. Her academic journey, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Covenant College, a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Argosy University, and an Education Specialist in School Counseling from Valdosta State University, reflects her dedication to academic excellence and professional growth. With a profound commitment to empowering teachers through open dialogue, empathy, and advocacy, Dee is poised to make a transformative impact on the educational landscape of Dalton High School as an Assistant Principal.

Erin Roberts brings over two decades of unwavering dedication to education and a proven track record of success to her role as the Assistant Principal of Park Creek Elementary. As a motivated, relational, and results-driven educational leader, Erin's passion for fostering academic growth and cultivating positive learning environments shines through her extensive experience. Having served as a Math & Science Instructional Coach at Park Creek Elementary since 2019, Erin has been dedicated to empowering educators and students through student-centered coaching and innovative professional development initiatives. Erin holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University, a Master of Science in Elementary Education from Piedmont University, and an Education Specialist in P-12 Administration and Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. Erin's dedication to continuous improvement and excellence in education makes her a valuable addition to the leadership team at Park Creek Elementary.

Both Dee Curtis and Erin Roberts will serve in these new roles starting in the 2024-25 school year, working closely with school administrators, teachers, students, and parents to further the mission and vision of Dalton Public Schools.

As they embark on this new chapter, both Dee and Erin will collaborate closely with school stakeholders to foster inclusive, supportive, and innovative learning environments that empower every student to achieve their fullest potential.
