Wes Phinney is a man of many roles at Dalton High School. As a Drama Teacher and Director, an AP U.S. History teacher, Fine Arts Chair, and the Dalton High School Fine Arts Academy Coordinator, he wears numerous hats with passion and dedication.

When asked about his inspiration for teaching, Phinney's answer is his students. He expresses a deep admiration for their intelligence, talent, creativity, and boundless energy. Despite the challenges that come with his multifaceted roles, Phinney considers himself fortunate to be able to do what he loves every day – helping extraordinary young people create the magic of live theatre.

Phinney's journey in building the Drama program at Dalton High School has been likened to constructing a mountain, with each student, parent, teacher, and volunteer contributing to its growth. His students have participated in various productions, attended Thespians Conferences, and even traveled to iconic locations like New York and London to hone their craft alongside professionals.
