Brad Beck has been tapped as the head coach of the Girls Basketball team at Dalton High School. He replaces former head coach Jim Case who resigned earlier this year. Beck had previously served as an assistant coach for the girls program for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He is an exceptional student services teacher at the school.
"We are very excited to have Brad leading our girls program," said Steve Bartoo, principal at Dalton High. "He is very enthusiastic and excited to get to work and build a winning program at Dalton High."
Athletic Director Jeff McKinney said Beck's strengths include his athleticism and player development. "Brad has been a professional athlete and knows what it takes to get players ready to compete at a high level. He also is very focused on player development and is looking forward to working with the city rec department and Dalton Middle School to help encourage young athletes and grow a stellar basketball program for our school."
Beck played baseball for Montgomery College of Rockville before joining the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in California, for three years where he served as a left-handed relief pitcher. Beck went back to school and earned a Bachelor's degree from Eastern Oregon University.
Currently, Beck serves as the Head Coach of the Boys Golf Team at Dalton High.
