Thank you to all of our school-based speech language pathologists.
Governor Nathan Deal issued a proclamation recognizing September 11-15, 2017 as School-Based Speech Language Pathologists Week.
According to the official proclamation, "Speech Language Pathologists help students develop effective speaking and listening skills, tools which prove fundamental for success in personal, academic and professional relationships.
"Speech language pathologists are crucial to each school's special education team and are invaluable support resources for classroom teachers, guidance counselors and parents.
"School-based speech language pathologists statewide have had a lasting impact on future generations by both providing exemplary speech-language services to local schools and catering to the individual needs of Georgia's students across all levels of education."
Here at DPS, we know how lucky we are to have such amazing people filling this important role. We use this week to celebrate and show our appreciation for the individuals who dedicate their time and efforts to improving the lives of our students. Thank you to all of our school-based speech language pathologists.
