“I am very proud of all the students. They went out of their comfort zone to push themselves and expand their horizons in their skills and leadership ability.”
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club members from Morris Innovative High School recently competed in the FBLA Region Leadership Conference. The competition took place on January 8, at Ringgold High School. More than 30 schools competed at this event.
Students competed in both individual and team events. Each event focused on different skills that are useful in career and leadership development. Some events included business presentations, public speaking, global business role-play and much more. A full list of events can be found on the FBLA website here.
By competing in these events, each student received points for the Morris FBLA Chapter. Not only were students earning points and competing for prizes, they were also developing their business skills and portfolios.
The following students participated in various events: Hailey Adkins, Elizabeth Cornejo, Oscar Escobar, Jasper Harrison, Bryson Hines, Jessica Jacobo, Olivia Kiker, Obadiah Kimmel, Orlando Negron, Hadley Sanchez, and Karen Villafuerta
Jessica Jacobo placed 3rd in Sales Presentation and Hailey Adkins and Bryson Hines placed 6th in Emerging Business Issues.
"I am very proud of all the students," Sheila Yarbrough, the chapter advisor, said. "They went out of their comfort zone to push themselves and expand their horizons in their skills and leadership ability."
