Advanced Placement (AP)

The Dalton Academy offers Advanced Placement (AP) classes for interested students.

The Advanced Placement Program is a challenging academic program designed to provide motivated high school students with college-level academic courses. High school students who complete AP courses demonstrate their mastery of subject material by earning qualifying grades on AP examinations.

The Dalton Academy offers the following AP Courses for students:

  • AP Human Geography

  • AP World History

  • AP Seminar

  • AP English Language and Composition

  • AP US History

  • AP Environmental Science

  • AP Pre-Calculus

  • AP Research

AP Honor Challenge School Badge

The Dalton Academy Named AP Honor Challenge School

The AP Challenge designation is awarded to schools with 900 or fewer students that offer AP exams in English, math, science, and social studies while administering a minimum of 25 total exams. This recognition highlights The Dalton Academy’s dedication to academic excellence and preparing students for college and career success.

Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma

Did you know that The Dalton Academy will be the only high school in Whitfield County to host the Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diploma?

The AP Capstone is an innovative program that allows students to engage in rigorous college-level study of the critical skills necessary for success in college. The program of study includes a two-course sequence: AP Seminar and AP Research. Students are eligible to earn the AP Capstone Diploma by successfully completing the AP Capstone courses in addition to completing four AP courses and earning a score of 3 or higher on the corresponding AP examinations. The attainment of an AP Capstone Diploma helps students stand out in the college admission process. In fact, students earning an AP Capstone Diploma have much higher rates of acceptance at major four-year colleges and universities nationwide.
