Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, Dalton Public Schools (DPS) will administer the Georgia School Climate Surveys (GSCS). These surveys replace the previous Georgia Student Health Survey, Georgia Parent School Climate Survey, and Georgia School Personnel Survey.

• Aligned with Improvement: The GSCS are designed to provide valuable data to help schools improve and create a safer, more engaging learning environment for all students.

• Who Participates: Surveys will be administered to students in grades 3 through 12, teachers, staff, and families.

• Survey Window: The survey window for DPS opens on January 17, 2024, and closes on February 14, 2024.

• Student Surveys: Your student's school will determine a specific schedule for administering the student surveys during the school day.

The results of these surveys will be used by the Georgia Department of Education to assign a "STAR Climate" rating to each school.

Your student's school has shared information about the surveys, including the survey administration schedule and the process for opting your student out of participation.
