As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, we want to share an update regarding class placements.
In previous years, we have done our best to consider parent requests for specific homeroom teachers. However, as our staffing has evolved and we welcome new team members across grade levels, we are no longer able to accommodate these requests in a way that is fair and equitable for all students.
Our school team takes great care in creating balanced classrooms, considering each child’s academic needs, learning style, and social development. This thoughtful process ensures that every student is placed in an environment where they can be successful and supported.
We appreciate your understanding and continued trust in our staff as we make these important decisions with all students’ best interests in mind.

Glow Party Information - Date: April 2, 2026
If you haven’t already, please send $3.00 with your student to help cover the Glow Party admission.


We will also be selling fun glow items on April 1st (the day before the party). Purchased items will be collected and saved for students to use during the party on April 2nd.
Examples of items available for purchase: glow sticks, glowing necklaces and bracelets, glowing wands, light-up rings, crowns and glasses, hats and more.
Prices: Items will range from $1 to $6.
We’re excited for a fun and glowing celebration!

If your child would like to eat breakfast at school, they must arrive between 7:30 - 8:15 a.m. so they have enough time to eat before instructional time starts.

South Walkers Pick-Up Update:
Tomorrow, Friday, February 20, 2026, SOUTH WALKERS students will need to be picked up on the patio by the cafeteria.
Beginning Monday, February 23, 2026, all SOUTH WALKERS students must be picked up at the ramp on the west side of the school. This change will remain in effect for the rest of the school year. Thank you for your cooperation.

Good Afternoon families,

We want to make you aware that due to the Dalton State Homecoming Parade taking place in downtown Dalton on Friday, February 20, the Dalton Public Schools After School Program (ASP) at City Park will not operate that afternoon.

The scheduled street closures connected to the parade will prevent us from running ASP as usual. As a result, ASP services will not be available on February 20.

We understand this change may require adjustments to your afternoon plans, and we sincerely appreciate your flexibility. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up at regular dismissal time.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s school. We are always happy to help.

Dear Dalton Public Schools Families and Community, To support the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families, Dalton Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Students will begin the school day two hours later than their normal start time, and school buses will also operate on a two-hour delay from their usual routes. We ask families to please be mindful of cold temperatures and ensure students are dressed appropriately. Bus routes may take slightly longer than usual as drivers use extra care to ensure safe transportation. Students will have the option to receive a grab-and-go breakfast upon arrival Tuesday morning. All afterschool activities will continue as normally scheduled. Dalton Public Schools staff members should check their email for additional information regarding the delayed start. As always, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families remain our top priority. Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
