Dalton Academy Named CSI Progress School by Georgia Department of Education

Dalton, GA — Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce that The Dalton Academy has been recognized as a Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) Progress School by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). This designation honors schools that are demonstrating meaningful progress in implementing improvement plans and increasing student achievement.
Each year, GaDOE recognizes CSI Progress Schools to celebrate those making significant gains. This year, 43 CSI schools statewide earned the designation. To qualify, schools were required to show a 5% increase in the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) Content Mastery score from 2024 to 2025 and achieve a score of 80 or higher in at least one additional CCRPI component—Progress, Closing Gaps, or Readiness.
The Dalton Academy’s recognition reflects the dedication and collective efforts of its students, teachers, administrators, and support staff.
Georgia School Superintendent Richard Woods praised schools making progress across the state, stating, “First and foremost, I want to celebrate the students, teachers, and staff who made these results possible. School improvement takes persistence, hard work, and a great deal of heart. The schools exiting CSI and TSI status – and those making progress – have put in tremendous effort to move forward for their students, working closely with our School & District Improvement team. These results remind us that when we work together and stay focused on students, real progress is possible in every corner of our state.”
The Dalton Academy Principal Jessica Ashlock emphasized the commitment behind the achievement.
“This recognition really is a testament to the hard work, resilience, and dedication of our students and staff,” Ashlock said. “Our team has remained focused on continuous improvement and meeting students where they are. I am incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made together and grateful for the unwavering support from Dalton Public Schools as we continue working toward even greater success for our students.”
