Sandi Hannah Named City Park School’s 2024–2025 Classified Staff Member of the Year

Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce that Sandi Hannah has been named City Park School’s 2024–2025 Classified Staff Member of the Year.

Hannah has served as a paraprofessional at City Park School since 2006 and is known for her reliability, positive attitude, and deep commitment to students, staff, and families.

“I show up each day ready for whatever may come my way,” Hannah said. “I am reliable to both coworkers and students. I try to greet everyone with a smile and happy attitude to help set the tone for the day.”

Throughout her career, Hannah has built lasting relationships within the school community and takes pride in seeing former students grow into contributing members of the community.

“I pride myself in the fact that I’ve seen so many kids grow up and become contributing citizens of this community. I like to think that I had a hand in this behind the scenes,” she said.

Hannah shared that supporting students and families goes beyond the classroom and includes helping meet needs when possible.

A lifelong supporter of Dalton Public Schools, Hannah noted that both she and her children are DPS alumni.

“I’ve served on various committees as a parent and employee,” she said. “I feel like I’ve made a positive impact on both my own children and the children I have taught. My children and myself are all previous DPS students. I’m very proud of the legacy and the success stories that I have had the privilege to be a part of.”

Hannah is a mother of three grown children and a grandmother of three (With another on the way!), and she credits her commitment to community to the belief that collective support matters.

“I am a mother of three grown children, as well as a grandmother, ‘sassy,’ of three,” she said. “My duty to the community started years ago when raising my own children, along with my husband, to be upstanding adults. This is what we all need to strive for. As the saying goes, ‘it takes a village.’ Glad I had the opportunity to be a part of the village.”

Dalton Public Schools congratulates Sandi Hannah on this well-deserved honor and thanks her for nearly two decades of service to City Park School and the DPS community.
