DALTON, GA ā In a continued commitment to maintaining safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environments, Dalton Public Schools is announcing a new partnership with Sandy Hook Promise. As part of this safety initiative, the district will soon launch the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System across our schools.
Sandy Hook Promise is a nationally recognized organization founded by family members who lost loved ones in the 2012 tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The organization works to prevent school violence by teaching students, families, educators, and communities how to recognize warning signs, build strong connections, and intervene before a crisis occurs.
Through the Say Something system, students, parents, staff, and community members will have a confidential, 24/7 method to submit anonymous tips regarding student safety or well-being. Concerns may include bullying, threats of violence, self-harm, substance abuse, or any situation where a student needs help. All submitted reports are immediately reviewed by trained crisis response personnel to ensure appropriate evaluation and swift intervention by district officials or local public safety partners.
In addition to the reporting platform, DPS students will receive age-appropriate instruction developed by Sandy Hook Promise. Through specialized presentations, lessons, and activities, students will learn to identify warning signs, recognize trusted adults, foster positive peer connections, and feel empowered to speak up when concerned about themselves or others.

"Partnering with Sandy Hook Promise allows us to strengthen our safety network by empowering our students and community to recognize warning signs and speak up."
The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System will launch in the coming weeks. Prior to the official rollout, Dalton Public Schools will provide families and community members with detailed instructions on how to access the platform, alongside reporting links and frequently asked questions on the official district website at daltonpublicschools.com.
