Bus 5 will be running late this afternoon. At this time, we do not have an estimated time for arrival. We appreciate your patience and understanding!
These talented students will move on to the district competition, where they will represent City Park Elementary. We are so proud of their hard work, creativity, and dedication to writing!
The Young Georgia Authors (YGA) Writing Competition is designed to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in writing, celebrate their writing successes, and recognize student achievement in both the arts and academics. This prestigious competition has inspired Georgia students for more than two decades and is open to all Georgia public school students in grades K–12.
YGA is sponsored by the Georgia Language Arts Supervisors (GLAS) and the Georgia RESA Network, with support from the Georgia Department of Education.
🎉 Congratulations to our winners—we can’t wait to see you shine at the district level!

Great news, Panther families! We are excited to share that families now have two payment options for purchasing the 2025–2026 City Park Elementary yearbook.
Option 1: One payment of $30
Families may pay with cash or check (made payable to City Park Elementary) using the Lifetouch envelope sent home, or purchase online by scanning the QR code on the envelope or visiting ybpay.lifetouch.com and using ID Code: 15516426.
Option 2: Two payments of $15
This option is available for cash or check only (not online). Families should send two separate $15 payments (made payable to City Park Elementary) in an envelope or Ziploc bag clearly labeled with the student’s name, student number, grade, and teacher’s name.
📌 Important Reminder: All payments must be received by April 17.
If you have any questions, please contact the school office. Thank you for helping us make this year’s City Park yearbook a keepsake to remember!

Here's another fun Winter poem from PAWZ!
Windows sparkle with icy lace,
and frosty patterns we can trace.
Crunchy footsteps, breath so white —
winter mornings are pure delight

Shop Panther tees, hoodies, hats, and cozy winter gear for the whole family!
All items are shipped directly to your home, and all payments are made directly to the company—nothing is ordered, collected, or handled through the school. Wear your Panther pride to school events, Panther Fridays, and in the community. Thank you for supporting City Park Elementary!

As we kick off the new year, PAWZ would like to remind our Panthers to remember to kick it safely in PE and Dance/Tumbling!
Proper athletic shoes give students the support they need to run, jump, and play without slipping or getting hurt. To help everyone participate safely, please make sure your child wears closed-toe shoes, ideally tennis shoes. Shoes with heels are not allowed, as they can damage our equipment. Shoes that stay securely on the feet — like sneakers with laces or Velcro — help prevent trips and falls. Sandals, boots, Crocs, or flip-flops can make it hard to participate fully and safely. We also encourage athletic or comfortable play clothes—leggings, shorts, or t-shirts work great!
While no child will ever be left out because of their clothing, proper attire helps students move more freely and comfortably during class.
Please help your child be ready for PE and Dance/Tumbling by sending them in comfortable, well-fitting athletic shoes on these specials days. The right footwear helps your child do their best and stay injury-free!

You may notice your child bringing home poems, jokes, or playful language from school! Poetry and humor are important parts of learning because they help students understand figurative language—such as similes, metaphors, rhyme, and wordplay. Exploring poems and jokes builds vocabulary, strengthens reading comprehension, and encourages creative thinking. Most importantly, it helps students see that language can be meaningful and fun. We encourage families to enjoy poems and jokes together at home and talk about what the words really mean beyond their literal definitions. Here's one to talk about with your child this week as you discuss dressing for the weather!
🧣 Button up, it’s cold today!
Winter winds are here to play.
Scarves, mittens, and hats so snug —
nothing beats a warm winter hug. ❤️
