We will have a Virtual Learning Day on Friday, January 17, followed by the MLK Holiday on Monday, January 20.
For Virtual Day, students should complete their work at home either via Canvas or via printed materials sent home by teachers.

With snow and a wintry mix expected in the forecast, we’ve made the decision to cancel school on Friday, January 10, 2025, to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families.
This day will not be a digital learning day, so students will not have assignments or online work to complete. We hope this gives your family the opportunity to enjoy a safe and restful day at home.
While we anticipate returning to school as usual next week, we will encourage students to take their laptops and chargers home with them today. This is just a precaution in case weather conditions extend beyond Friday. Please help us remind your child to handle these items with care so they’re ready to use when needed.
If your child is in need of a warm jacket for the winter weather, please contact your school social worker for assistance. We are here to help and ensure all students are prepared for the colder temperatures.
Additionally, if your family is experiencing food insecurity or would like assistance, we invite you to visit our website for a list of food resources available to families.
Thank you for your understanding and partnership as we navigate the winter weather together. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s school.
Stay safe, stay warm, and we look forward to seeing everyone back soon!

Class picture day is coming on Thursday, January 16!

With snow and a wintry mix in the forecast, we are closely monitoring the weather and considering all factors to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families. We will meet with our weather team early tomorrow morning to review the latest conditions and determine the best course of action. Once a decision is made, we will communicate it to you promptly, so you have time to prepare accordingly.
In preparation for the weather event, we encourage all students to bring their laptops and chargers home with them on Thursday. We ask for your help in reminding your child to do so, ensuring they handle these items with care and have them ready to use if needed.

Many thanks to these students for helping design the artwork that will welcome attendees to our ELFLANDIA performance tomorrow evening!

This Thursday, December 19, promises to be an exciting day at the 405! At 5:30 PM, our Glee Club will inaugurate our SnowGlobe Science Night with a delightful holiday concert. Following the concert, PAWS will provide hot chocolate and sweet treats in our cafeteria. Families will have the opportunity to visit classrooms and engage in enjoyable, hands-on science activities related to snow.
To prepare our students for this engaging Science Night, PAWS will host two science-themed assemblies during the school day on Thursday, presented by Science Heroes. This company specializes in interactive, live science programs for schools, libraries, and other venues, aiming to make science engaging and accessible for children. Their programs feature fun narratives and hands-on experiments that celebrate the achievements of notable scientists, inspiring future generations in STEM fields. Science Heroes presents science as an exciting adventure, utilizing a dynamic performance style and interactive experiments to actively involve audiences in the learning process.
Our PreK-2 grades will participate in the assembly at 9:00 AM, and our grades 3-5 will attend at 1:00 PM.
This assembly is made possible through our media center, funded by proceeds from our recent Scholastic Book Fair and FUN Services Holiday Shop. PAWS appreciates the support of all who participated in these events, as the profits directly benefit all of our City Park Panthers!

PAWS is excited to get a peek into ELFLANDIA thanks to our kindergarten through second grade performers! Come out to see this holiday show on Tuesday, December 17 at 6:00 PM in the City Park auditorium! Be sure to get an ELFIE SELFIE while you're at it! Many thanks to Mrs. Garcia, Ms. Catlett, Ms. Manis, and Mr. Satterfield for their leadership!
