A big thank you to our friends at Royal Oaks for the encouraging notes and sign you made for our 3–5 graders as they prepare for testing next week. We appreciate your support! ❤️🐾

The Creative Discovery Museum came to Westwood to provide engaging, hands-on lessons for our students across grade levels. They had so much fun while learning in interactive and exciting ways!
Lessons aligned with standards and included topics like rocks and minerals, colors and artistic expression, light and sound, invertebrates, and fossils. Students even experienced the Star Lab, where they felt like they were in space! 🌎
A big thank you to Westwood PTO for making this amazing learning opportunity possible for our students! ❤️🐾

A special thank you to Spencer and Bridget from Floating Tree Company, along with Allison from DPRD, for coming out to help our students build flower beds, shovel dirt, and plant a variety of plants. We truly appreciate their support and dedication to providing meaningful, real world learning experiences for our students!
All of this was made possible thanks to a grant secured by Allison Mitchell from DPRD through the Northwest GA Community Foundation for Westwood.

Last week, our friends from Royal Oaks joined us for a fun morning on National Gardening Day.

Mrs. Redding taught a great teamwork lesson to our 4th graders!
Students practiced working together to achieve a common goal, learning how to communicate clearly and effectively. They also discovered the importance of listening to one another and taking accountability for their actions. Great teamwork in action!

Our 2nd grade DLI students had so much fun in a wonderful collaborative experience with Hammond Creek Middle School students!
Together, they created alfombras inspired by traditional designs from Guatemala and muñecas quitapenas (Guatemalan worry dolls).
A big thank you to Mrs. Gonzalez from Hammond Creek and the Dalton Education Foundation for making this meaningful learning opportunity possible for our students! ❤️🐾

Ms. Calsetta & Ms. Torres’ classes had a wonderful field trip to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum! 🚂🐾
Students enjoyed a museum tour and a scenic train ride through Missionary Ridge. A fun learning experience!
