City Park Elementary School Earns 2024 SSAS Bronze Award for Greatest Gains Dalton, Ga. — City Park Elementary School has been named a 2024 Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) Bronze Award winner for Greatest Gains, an honor presented by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement. This recognition celebrates City Park’s outstanding progress in student achievement and places the school among the top seven percent of schools statewide for academic growth. The Greatest Gains award highlights schools with significant improvement in their College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) Progress Scores over the past three years. City Park Elementary earned a Bronze Award, one of only four performance tiers under this distinction. To qualify, schools must: Rank between the 93rd and 95th percentile statewide in their average CCRPI Progress Score from the past three years; Earn a 2024 CCRPI Single Score no more than 10 points lower than their 2019 score; and Be excluded from the Georgia Promise Scholarship Public School List and the Georgia Department of Education’s Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) lists. “This award is a true testament to the hard work of our teachers, staff, students, and families,” said Dr. Steven Craft, Superintendent of Dalton Public Schools. “We are incredibly proud of the City Park Elementary community for their shared commitment to student growth and achievement.” Out of the more than 2,200 public schools across Georgia, only 146 schools received a Greatest Gains designation this year. City Park Elementary is one of just 29 schools statewide to earn the Bronze Award in this competitive category. “At City Park, our school staff has been charged with providing “Endless PAWSibilities” for all our students. This award shows our community that we are doing that,” shared Kim Rhyne, Principal of City Park School. “Our students are demonstrating remarkable growth and success. Our dedicated teachers are working hard to help ensure that success. I am proud of our staff and students, and I am so thankful to be part of City Park.” The award includes an official certificate and public recognition from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement.
