In honor of Black History Month, Dalton Public Schools is highlighting staff members who make a meaningful impact in their schools and communities. Airius Hudgins, an ESS Teacher at City Park School, is deeply committed to supporting students and fostering an environment where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.
For Hudgins, Black History Month is both a celebration and a call to action. āBlack History Month is a powerful celebration of Black excellenceāa heartfelt tribute to the resilience, brilliance, and unstoppable spirit of a people who have endured so much yet continue to shine,ā she shared. She reflects on the importance of honoring the extraordinary achievements of Black leaders past and present, while remembering the heroes who courageously fought for justice, education, and freedom.
Hudgins views this time as an opportunity to inspire growth and perseverance in future generations. āItās a time to remember their sacrifice, their courage, and their unwavering hope that transformed the world,ā she said. āLet it ignite a fire within us to keep pushing forward, to grow, to rise, and to honor their legacy by continuing the fight for justice, equality, and dignity.ā
